Data Storage and Private Cloud Sync

All of your recipes, timers, grocery lists, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud synchronisation (such as Apple iCloud on iOS), your data is synced across your devices directly via your personal cloud account.

This data is transmitted and stored securely within your platform provider's infrastructure; Sonnel Ltd does not operate external user databases, cannot view your recipes, and has no access to your private cloud container.

On-Device Intelligence & Camera / OCR Processing

Features that assist with scanning physical cookbooks, recognizing text (OCR), or drafting recipes utilize built-in, on-device system intelligence and local machine learning models (such as Apple Intelligence and Vision on iOS, or local on-device models on Android).

All camera capture and text analysis occur locally on your hardware. Your recipe texts, scanned cookbook pages, and photos are never transmitted to Sonnel or any third-party AI servers.

Third-Party Services & Purchases

Battuto does not share any user data with third parties. Any optional purchases or unlocks are processed directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store In-App Purchase systems, subject to Apple’s or Google’s respective standard Privacy Policies.

Sonnel Ltd does not claim ownership, authorship, or affiliation with any third-party websites or content imported using the app.
• Personal Archiving Only: You agree to use the web import feature strictly as a personal utility to archive, format, and view recipes you access for your own cooking. You agree not to distribute, republish, commercialize, publicly display, or create derivative commercial works from third-party recipes imported into the app.
• Accuracy & Availability: Battuto does not host, curate, or review external web content. Sonnel Ltd makes no guarantees regarding the accuracy, completeness, safety, or continued availability of any external website or content imported via third-party URLs.

AI-Generated Content & Dietary Preferences

Features powered by on-device machine learning generate recipe ideas, ingredient suggestions, and instructions algorithmically based on user prompts. While you may configure dietary preferences (such as Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten-Free, or Dairy-Free):

• The app cannot verify the contents, purity, or sourcing of ingredients you purchase.
• You are solely responsible for inspecting physical product packaging, labels, and allergen warnings before preparing or consuming any meal. If you have severe food allergies, coeliac disease, or specific medical dietary constraints, exercise independent caution and consult a qualified healthcare provider.

Food Safety, Cooking Times & Recipe Vault Guidance

Cooking times, oven temperatures, and preparation techniques provided across Battuto—whether sourced from the built-in Recipe Vault, imported from third-party websites, scanned via OCR, or drafted using on-device AI—are general estimates only.

• Verify Internal Temperatures: Appliances, cookware, altitude, and ingredient thicknesses vary significantly. You are solely responsible for verifying that all food—particularly poultry, meat, pork, fish, shellfish, and eggs—is thoroughly cooked to safe internal temperatures (e.g., using a calibrated food thermometer) in accordance with UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) or local health authority guidelines.
• Raw & Perishable Ingredients: Exercise independent culinary judgment regarding raw ingredients, fermentation, canning, or storage times. Sonnel Ltd does not test or certify individual AI-generated outputs or vault recipes for microbiological safety.
